Rescue A Stray, Save A Life

Saving a stray animal is not easy. The good news is: there are many ways to save a life. You can feed a stray, rescue one from the street, foster one, or adopt another.

Or you can write a book on stray dogs and help encourage more humans to be kind to strays. Then raise funds to help dogs and cats rescued from the streets.

This is what author Lalaine Duano Manaog-Danao did when she wrote “Derby, Ang Asong Iniwan.”

She is now raising funds to have more copies of the book printed and to help rescued dogs and cats of Save Animals of Love and Light-Save ALL.

Save ALL shares that there are three kinds of strays:

the ones who were born in the streets because their mom was a stray dog;

the ones who got lost because they panicked and ran out of the house due to the loud sound of firecrackers; and

the ones who were abandoned.

Abandoning a dog is one of the most cruel things a furparent can do to a pet. How can a dog who grew up inside a home adjust to a life of a stray who has to look for and fight for food and space in the streets, who is hurt by cruel humans, and who has to learn to cross the streets without being hit by a vehicle?

The book Derby takes us on a stray dog’s journey from being abandoned, to surviving in the street, and then being adopted. It teaches humans about kindness and resilience.
