PackPrintPlas Philippines 2025 Opens at SMX Manila, Spotlights Innovation and Sustainability

Manila, Philippines – September 18, 2025 – The 31st edition of PackPrintPlas Philippines 2025, the country’s largest industrial expo for packaging, printing, and plastics, officially opened today at the SMX Convention Center Manila. With over 300 leading brands and more than 600 live machines and technologies across 10,000+ square meters of exhibit space, the event sets the stage for innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in the Philippine manufacturing landscape.

Organized by Global-Link MP Events International, Inc. in partnership with Messe Düsseldorf Asia, the three-day expo runs from September 18 to 20 and is supported by the Philippine Plastics Industry Association (PPIA), the Packaging Institute of the Philippines (PIP), and the Philippine Center for Print Excellence Foundation (PCPEF).

At the official opening, Mr. Marvin Lee, President of the Packaging Institute of the Philippines, addressed industry leaders, innovators, and professionals.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 31st edition of Pack Print Plas Philippines 2025. Pack Print Plas is more than a fixture in our annual calendar. It is a catalyst for change, a window into the future of our industries, and a platform where ideas are transformed into action.”

He emphasized the shifting role of packaging in today’s economy.

“Each year, it convinces leaders, innovators, and experts who share a common purpose, to build industries that are not only globally competitive, but also forward-looking, adaptive, and responsible.”

“The packaging industry, in particular, is at a crucial juncture. Once regarded simply as a means to contain or protect, packaging has now evolved into a strategic driver of consumer engagement, supply chain efficiency, and environmental stewardship. It directly influences how products are perceived, how they move across global markets, and how businesses respond to the urgent call for sustainability.”

Lee further underscored the importance of innovation.

“Today, we are witnessing innovations that predefine the very role of packaging: Advanced sustainable materials that minimize waste while maintaining durability and performance. Smart, intelligent packaging solutions that integrate digital technologies such as QR codes, sensors, and data analytics, into everyday functionality. Designs that balance form and function, meeting consumer demand.”

One of the central highlights of PackPrintPlas Philippines 2025 is the Plastics Reborn (Upcycle) program, which demonstrates community-based recycling initiatives and innovative uses for post-consumer waste. Supported by LGUs including Caloocan, Valenzuela, Parañaque, and Pasig, the program shows how local recycling hubs are transforming discarded plastics into new, useful products, pushing forward the country’s circular economy efforts.

The expo floor also features advanced robotics, high-speed digital printing systems, hybrid presses, large-format printers, 3D printing, bioplastics, and next-generation molding equipment. These innovations address global trends in efficiency, customization, and sustainability.

Patrick-Lawrence Tan, CEO of Global-Link MP, reaffirmed the event’s role in industry transformation.

“The expo is designed to help companies take decisive steps toward upgrading equipment, automating processes, or integrating smarter, more sustainable production solutions. It continues to attract decision-makers who are actively seeking to transform the way they work.”

With over 145 exhibitors — more than 50% of which are international — PackPrintPlas Philippines 2025 emphasizes its global reach. Exhibitors hail from China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan, USA, India, Brazil, and Mexico, offering attendees access to world-class technologies and materials.

Ringling Gernot, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, noted the event’s regional significance.

“The Philippines continues to be one of the most dynamic and opportunity-rich markets in Southeast Asia. PackPrintPlas provides the platform for global and local players to connect, collaborate, and respond to the region’s growing demand for smarter, faster, and more sustainable manufacturing.”

This year also highlights the Printing and Packaging Services Pavilion, designed to provide SMEs with practical solutions such as packaging consultations, short-order services, and access to affordable technologies that can enhance their competitiveness in global markets. Complementing the exhibits are expert-led forums, product launches, live machinery demonstrations, and business-matching opportunities — all of which position the event as a comprehensive hub for industry knowledge and partnerships.

Further strengthening the sustainability agenda, the expo is sponsored by MPOWER, the retail electricity supply arm of Meralco, which provides cost-competitive, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions to enterprises nationwide.

PackPrintPlas Philippines 2025 is expected to draw thousands of decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and professionals seeking to scale, source, and stay ahead in their industries. With themes of sustainability, automation, and digital transformation shaping this year’s program, the expo reinforces the Philippines’ position as a key player in Southeast Asia’s manufacturing future.

The event runs until September 20, 2025, with visiting hours from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM on September 18 and 19, and until 5:00 PM on September 20. Registration is available at www.packprintplasphilippines.com/registration.
