Multipolitan raises US$2M at US$25M valuation, plans technology expansion in Manila

PHILIPPINES, 3 NOVEMBER 2026 - Singapore-based global mobility technology company Multipolitan has raised US$2 million in seed funding at a US$25 million pre-money valuation as it prepares for its next phase of growth, including plans to establish an office and expand its technology team in Manila.

The round was led by EmergentX, a global venture studio, accelerator, and incubator. The new capital will support the December 2026 global launch of the free, consumer-focused Multipolitan App and accelerate the growth of Multipolitan Private Client, its service for high-net-worth individuals and affluent clients.

The company enters this next phase with an existing revenue-generating business. Multipolitan Private Client has generated more than US$4 million in net revenue in under two years, providing commercial validation while giving the company research and customer insights to support development of its broader technology platform.

Multipolitan was founded by Nirbhay Handa, former Group Head of Business Development at Henley & Partners, and Lee Smith, an entrepreneur and co-founder of Japanese fintech company Paidy, which was acquired by PayPal for US$2.7 billion.

Their backgrounds bring together experience in global mobility, wealth migration, financial technology, and scaling consumer platforms as Multipolitan addresses demand from people living, working, studying, investing, and traveling across borders.

Building a platform for cross-border mobility

More than 1.5 billion international trips are taken each year, over 300 million people live outside their country of birth, and an estimated 40 million people identify as digital nomads.

Yet international mobility often requires individuals and families to manage information and requirements across multiple systems, from passports and visas to immigration rules, insurance, travel documents, and flight information.

"Travel involves managing passports, visas, insurance, and pre-arrival documents, on top of tracking flights," said Lee Smith, Co-Founder of Multipolitan. "Add a family with multiple passports and visas, and it quickly becomes overwhelming. Multipolitan removes the friction of traveling to, or living in, other countries."

Multipolitan is developing a single platform designed to bring immigration, visa, travel, and other cross-border requirements together. Its business is built around two products serving different segments of the global mobility market.

Multipolitan App is its consumer platform, scheduled for global launch in December 2026, while Multipolitan Private Client provides specialized services for high-net-worth individuals and affluent families managing more complex international mobility requirements.

The app is organized around three connected needs: Live, Travel, and Stay. Live helps users manage passports, visas, residence information, and family documents in one place, with reminders for important deadlines. Travel brings together entry requirements, pre-arrival preparation, and real-time flight updates, helping users understand what they need before departure and stay informed throughout their journey. Stay is designed to help users track time spent abroad, remaining stay allowances, and approaching deadlines, including planned calculations for covered travel rules such as Schengen scenarios. Together, the three pillars aim to make cross-border mobility easier to manage before, during, and between trips.

Supporting the platform is Multipolitan's proprietary technology stack, which includes INREX, its immigration intelligence engine; FlightIQ, a real-time travel intelligence platform; and Visa Connect, an AI-powered travel visa engine.

Multipolitan will initially launch the app for free worldwide. Insights from the initial rollout will inform a premium version with additional features, planned for the second quarter of 2027.

"Living and moving across countries shouldn't mean navigating dozens of disconnected systems," said Handa. "Multipolitan App brings flights, visas, and immigration guidance into one connected experience, helping people understand where they can go and what it takes to get there."

"For families facing more complex residency, wealth, or succession decisions, Multipolitan Private Client provides tailored advice. Together, they form the two pillars of our ambition to build the universal platform for global mobility," he added.

The Philippines in Multipolitan's Asian expansion

The Philippines is among the markets included in Multipolitan's planned expansion as the company grows its presence across Asia. The company sees opportunities arising from Filipinos traveling, working, studying, and building lives across borders, as well as from digital nomads living and working from the country.

Manila will form part of Multipolitan's technology expansion, with the company looking to tap the city's pool of mobile and full-stack developers as it grows its technology team. The expansion will support product development as Multipolitan scales its global mobility platform.

"As more Filipinos travel, work, study, and build lives across borders, we see growing demand for clear, connected mobility support," said Handa. "We expect the country to remain a key part of our expansion in Asia."

Multipolitan currently employs more than 40 people across its Singapore headquarters and offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Bengaluru. Additional offices are planned in Manila and Kuala Lumpur as the company expands its regional presence.
